HERE WE GO!!!!!

I am for hire!!! Just Be. Photography by Beth Cardwell is open for business. I am sending away for my cards this weekend and filing for my federal and state tax #. This is it! There is still ALOT that I have to learn about digital, but I am getting it. Pretty siked at this point. Ted still thinks I am not going to be charging enough, but I look at it as a way to get paid for one of my hobbies. When my confidence is to the point where I can't fit my head through the door, then maybe I will raise my prices. I just don't see myself ever wanting to have to deal with proofs and picture packages. In the end the customer is the one making out like a bandit, but I am okay with that. This is just my part time job :)

So if your reading this and have not checked it out already, go to www.bethcardwell.com
and take a look at my portfoilo, and of course tell everyone you know as well.

Note to self:

You are a strong woman. Nothing worth having is going to come easy. You will learn as you go. You have come this far-do not give up!

Sorry that I did not address this to everyone else-it was an overwhelming day and I feel like I am on the verge of something really good. My head is spinning and I am worried about everything under the sun. Trying to knock it off. I can't stand when I get negative. Just had to remind myself of a couple of things.

Keeping up with Tradition...

Every year about a week before Halloween, the Cardwell Family goes to the $1 Any Size Pumpkin Wagon (Thank you Sangrey Savers) and gets a pumpkin for every member of the family. Ben and Alex were really into it this year while Cate screamed her head off most of the time we were cleaning and carving. Gotta admit that I love the pumpkin carvin' myself and even took a request from Ben to make one of the pumpkins be "in love" (that would be the one with hearts for eyes). These Jack 'o Lanterns will grace the front yard on Trick or Treat nite.

LIFE CHANGING TOOL OR NEW TOY ???

I played Marco/Polo on Land...

Ben, Ted and I played Marco/ Polo in the livingroom and I have not laughed so hard in a long time. I actually dodged Ted by crawling right by him. Don't even try to picture that-it couldn't have been pretty-effective, but not pretty. Ben kept saying both words and laughing like a loon. Had to write it down in the record book.

What I discovered/learned this week:

* Ben is starting to read and has no cavities.
* Planning a reunion takes alot of time.
* Connecting with people I went to HS with is really fun.
* My husband's patience with me is infinite (Thank you Ted)
* Add .jpg to the end of fixed pics so the computer knows what they are.
* Cate singing and Alex laughing is tied for the sweetest sound on the planet.
* I am slowly becoming a Photoshop Goddess. For anyone rolling their eyes--I said slowly.
* People are going to talk about you no matter how nice you are.
* Those same people mentioned above are snarky and unhappy. Let it go.
* The fight songs for College Football teams are pretty catchy.

Quote of the Week: "I want my actions to be a reflection of who I am, not a reaction to how others treat me"

IN HER SHOES--Two thumbs up!

Last night I saw the movie "In Her Shoes" with Barb and Weber and it was great! Funny, touching, a little sexy (what's up smut books-woo-hoo) and a total chick flick. It was based in Philadelphia (Yes, Barb we know you grew up with Will Smith) so that was kind of cool recognizing different Philly landmarks. Overall a great "Therapy Friday".

I hate the "B" word.

No, I am not talking about a female dog or myself, I am talking about the word BUSY. It just drives me nuts! Quite a few people misuse this word. There is busy and then there is busy. Busy is working 60 hours a week or being a single parent with no support. Busy is not getting your nails done, watching TV or having a cold frosty adult beverage with friends. I am going to go out on a limb and say busy is not playing Texas Hold 'em poker (which I do on a regular basis).

I don't know why I am so bothered by this, I guess it is not the word so much as the lame use of it. I AM NOT BUSY!!!! I have a lot of stuff going on, but I will still make time for what is important and I will not use the word "busy" as an excuse for something I don't want to do or even better yet forgot to do!!

Okay, I am humbly stepping off the soap box, I feel better now.
